Manfred Metzdorf
Group Segment Manager Health, Recreation and Furniture
It all started for Manfred in April 1988. That’s when he joined the global Stabilus team, starting as an applications engineer and then transitioning to sales in the 90s.
Work in international sales made its way into his job description little by little. That’s how Manfred came to take on his role as Key Account Manager toward the end of the 90s. “From that point on, I was responsible for major office furniture accounts in Europe, North America, and Asia. That was certainly a new challenge! I became Director of Sales in 2006, taking over responsibility for international sales in the Swivel Chair/Commercial Furniture Segment.”
Today, he is Group Segment Manager in the Industrial Business Unit. “In this role, I am in charge of our Office Furniture Segment on a global scale. I have also assumed a high-level role in the Home Furniture, Health, and Recreation Segments for the Europe region.”
After so many years at Stabilus, he continues to see strong career opportunities for motivated employees. “Stabilus is a challenging company with a global team. Everyone practices good teamwork – there isn’t a lot of friction. The company offers an abundance of development opportunities for motivated employees.”

Valeria Valdes
Quality Process Coordinator
Valeria started at Stabilus in 2017 and quickly rose to the level of team leader in Quality Assurance as one of our young members of management. When the role was offered to her in 2020, she had “no idea how to lead a team, especially not one consisting only of men.”
What seemed to be a challenge for Valeria at the time, she mastered with ease.
“It became clear to me that it was all part of learning how to do my job well,” she explains. “I devoted myself to my work with great passion and energy, and I can tell that I have what it takes to be successful in this position.” She continues, “The advice I would give to all women out there is to never give up, to believe in your abilities, and to draw on your refined sense of judgment when making decisions.”

Stephanie Zhang
Logistics Manager
Stephanie Zhang started her career in 2006 in the Logistics Department and blazed her own trail with her leadership qualities.
She took on her current position as Logistics Manager in 2018.
dIn this role, Stephanie helps her team members reach their individual goals by setting a good example and providing encouragement to the team. For her, leadership means development as part of a team. “Being a leader means treating all members of the team with fairness, motivating them, and respecting their thoughts and feelings.”

Daisy Xi
Powerise Project Manager
Daisy joined Stabilus in 2017 after graduating with a master’s degree in Materials Science. At the time, she found herself looking for new challenges and exciting opportunities to develop herself further.
Until that point, Daisy had worked as a Design Release Engineer. Her search for a new job led Daisy to the POWERISE Business Unit at Stabilus. She proclaims that she has never looked back on her old position or missed anything about it.
“Despite the challenges that came with starting a new position, the timing was right for me, as I was able to take the knowledge I’d just acquired and apply it directly to my daily work. I am proud to say that all of my projects have gone smoothly.”

Bastian Arntzen
Global Portfolio Manager Stabilus Group
Bastian’s career at Stabilus began with an apprenticeship at the age of 16. He still remembers it well today: “I had resolved to accept an apprenticeship at a larger company 20 years ago. At the time, I didn’t know where my career journey was meant to lead. That’s why I wanted to leave a lot of different options open.”
After his capstone project, he transitioned directly to cross-functional sales for office furniture gas springs, being given an even higher level of responsibility a short time later. That’s how he became the youngest Key Account Manager at the Stabilus Group in 2009, taking over his own client base.
The next phase in his development occurred in 2020 with a high-level strategic assignment. As the Global Portfolio Manager of Stabilus Group, Bastian has led multiple projects related to the Group’s strategy.
During this time, it became important to him to be able to combine professional development with a focus on family. “I have always regarded Stabilus as a socially conscious employer. Particularly since having had kids and since the 2020 coronavirus pandemic, I have truly had to split myself between work, taking care of the kids, and the rest of life’s responsibilities. Luckily, Stabilus extends its people a lot of trust and flexibility.”

Emanuela Micula
Team Manager Industrial Customer Service
Emanuela has been part of Stabilus in Romania for more than 14 years. After graduation, she wanted to travel abroad. “But life had other plans,” Emanuela explains. “One year later, I didn’t want to leave the team, my company, or my home country.”
In 2013, she accepted the challenge of leading the team. Despite some highs and lows at the start, she persevered and found her path. “I really had to confront my weaknesses and my fears. I have learned a lot, and I continue to learn more every day.”
Emanuela shares that she works best in an environment in which her team members can be open and honest with one another. The best lessons for her came from the constructive criticism she received from her team, which she drew upon to cultivate a better work environment.
“I value my team’s honesty and confidence, regardless of whether things went well or something went less than optimally. They have helped me become a better leader.”

Noela Leka
Business Division Controller
Before her time at Stabilus, Noela completed general studies in political science, criminal justice, and economics. But during her stint as program coordinator for the exchange program at school, she discovered an interest in economics.
“One of my tasks was to handle the budget, which I really enjoyed doing. Hence, I decided to align my professional focus toward the field of economics.”
As Business Division Controller, Noela is always working with colleagues from all around the world.
“The Stabilus world is full of brilliant leaders, and I am trying to let what I have learned from them flow into my leadership style,” Noela says. “In my opinion, leadership is ultimately about motivating people to be better. A leader functions as a mentor to those around him or her, guiding them toward achieving their goals and developing professionally.”
She continues, “This of course applies to me as well. I think that my work ethic and my aspiration to improve and challenge myself make me a natural leader.”
